ÆTHERNA was born from a personal frustration, and a simple conviction: planning a wedding shouldn't require project management skills.
How this project started
I planned my wedding from 2022 to 2023. In La Réunion, in June, with my wife, in front of around 160 people. Like many couples-to-be, we discovered along the way what no one had told us: planning a wedding is many decisions spread over 18 months, across dimensions that have nothing to do with each other. Logistics, finance, emotion, geography, family.
To manage all this, what did we have? A shared Google Sheet for the budget. Notebooks for the to-do list. A paper agenda for vendor meetings. An inbox full of emails going every which way. And our two heads (plus those of the loved ones who helped!). All of it out of sync, with trade-offs lost between two apps, and decisions taken twice because the first one couldn't be found.
The more I think about it, the more obvious it became: there was a tool missing that thinks of wedding planning as a project, with steps, deliverables, deadlines. And that also knows how to step back when you just need to breathe.
ÆTHERNA was born from that observation. Built afterwards, calmly, with the perspective of someone who has lived the exercise.

ÆTHERNA is a focused toolbox covering the six tasks that really cause headaches for couples:

Whether you're a couple or a pro wedding planner using ÆTHERNA, the same framework applies. The same level of care on every function, the same standard on design. No wedding is secondary.
No marketing pressure
No anxious countdown (« only 47 days left! »). No guilt-tripping notifications. No completion score holding you hostage. ÆTHERNA respects your rhythm.
Design that speaks of the Jour J
Italic Cormorant, gold accents, ivory. The tool isn't neutral, and that's deliberate. It reminds you, in every detail, why you're doing all this work. Planning a wedding isn't filling an Excel sheet. It's honoring a moment.
No invasive tracking
Your data stays yours. No resale, no advertising profile, no invisible partners. Privacy by default.

Married in 2023 in La Réunion. Before ÆTHERNA, I spent nearly ten years in project management in renewable energy, where I still work in parallel.
ÆTHERNA is not my full-time job. It's a project I carry in the evenings and on weekends. I'd rather tell you upfront: this pace works for me right now. It lets me make the right decisions on the product, without the pressure of an investor asking for ten thousand users in six months.
If one day that changes, I'll tell you straight. For now, ÆTHERNA grows at its own pace. So do I.
What we will never do

No data resale
Your guests, your budgets, your seating plans stay strictly between you and ÆTHERNA. No data is resold to a partner, an aggregator, a broker. ÆTHERNA's business model is enabled by its paid versions. Not your data.
No predatory freemium
For couples, the free tier is generous: 1 wedding, 50 guests, 10 budget items and tasks, all features, with no time limit. You can live your entire preparation as long as needed, for free, with no commitment. If that's enough for you, great. If you want to go further, the paid option unlocks unlimited usage and exports. That's it.
No pressure to upgrade
If the free tier is enough for you, stay there. ÆTHERNA won't bombard you with upgrade messages (well, maybe one or two). If you hit the natural 50-guest limit and want to go beyond, you'll find the option.
No gamification
No badges. No « congratulations, you've completed 80% of your timeline! ». No infantilizing score. Your preparations aren't a game, and the stakes deserve better than an engagement mechanic borrowed from Duolingo.
